Dimeta

Established in February 2022, DIMETA is a joint venture between SHV Energy and UGI International, leading global distributors of off-grid energy. Dimeta’s mission is to advance the production and use of Renewable & Recycled Carbon Dimethyl Ether (DME), to accelerate the decarbonisation of the LPG industry’s transition to Net Zero. The organisation is working with multiple technology partners on developing sustainable DME production in the UK, Europe and United States. In July 2023, Dimeta and Enerkem announced they are exploring the opportunity for the development of a Renewable & Recycled Carbon DME production facility in Northwest Europe, which is anticipated to produce approximately 165,000 tonnes of Renewable & Recycled Carbon DME per year from mixed residual waste.
