Online debate in Brussels

At the invitation of MEP Jerzy Buzek, President of the EEF

MEP Seán Kelly, Director of the EEF
Nicola Rega, Energy Director, Cefic
Estanislao Rey-Baltar Boogen, Board Member, WindEurope
Domenico Franceschino, Head Origination West & Eastern Europe, Axpo Holding AG
Lukasz Kolinski, Head of Unit Renewables and Energy System Integration Policy, DG ENER, European Commission
MEP Christophe Grudler
Pascale VerheustDirector General of the EEF

In its proposal for a review of the Renewable Energy Directive, presented in July as part of the Fit for 55 Package, the European Commission set new targets to mainstream renewable energy in industry by 2030: an average annual increase of 1.1% in the share of RES used for final energy and non-energy purposes, and renewable hydrogen to account for 50% of the hydrogen used.

During this event, we will discuss how to turn these goals into reality, with a focus on renewable electricity – be it for direct electrification or green hydrogen production. Our EEF Associate Members Cefic, WindEurope and Axpo Holding AG will present the views, needs and possibilities of the demand and supply sides and will offer insights on how renewable corporate PPAs could be the link between the renewable power industry and large energy consumers.

Their views will be complemented by a speech from a representative of the European Commission and interventions from the panellist MEPs.

We look forward to a fruitful discussion!
